Ocean Journal

This week we are celebrating our oceans and their protection. The last weeks and months have shown that the world seems to be finally waking up, or at least part of the world, realising that men made climate change is real. 

Republic of Maldives - “Reethi Raajje" ("beautiful Maldives" in Dhivehi, local language) Because we are a the Blue Company and close to the ocean, all our item names come from islands, little and big Jewells in our seas, spread all over our blue planet. 

More or less 8 years ago, we passed on our apartment in Hamburg to my brother, totally overloaded a moving van with our furniture and set out to make our dream come true in the Basque Country.

Our Friends from EcoMar are cleaning beaches since nineteen years and have so far cleaned 17,000 meters of coast line with the help of over 2 million children.We have joined forces with them this Black Week to make a difference together with you for a better future and cleaner beaches. 

This year, Joel Tudor’s Vans Duct Tape Invitational Camp; Festival was held in the north of Spain, in Zarautz (Basque Country). The last time it had been held in Spain was during the Salinas Longboard Festival, in Asturias, back in 2011. It’s been a long wait since then, but it was well worth it.   

After producing in Portugal for many years, it was almost an obligation to get to know the Southern Tip of the country. When our Sentinel Concha joined TWOTHIRDS, the pressure was on. We had to go.

There are those moments in life that are difficult to describe. They are so unlike anything else you’ve experienced that they leave you feeling overwhelmed, emotional and dazed. They are larger than words or pictures can capture and somehow greater than just a physical encounter. These are the important ones.

Sad that summer is over and you can not splash around in your favourite element anymore, but also somehow you're looking forward to autumn colours, cosy jumpers, tea and hot chocolates?

At Twothirds, our sentinels are part of our brand. A sentinel is an informal ambassador, creating awareness for the Ocean in a series of subcultures such as art, fashion, surfing, and activism. Representing our leitmotif “We are Ocean”.

Since arriving in Byron Bay last November, we’ve settled into a fairly predictable pattern. Saturdays are crêpe days and Sundays are American style, ‘fat’ pancakes.

You will be impressed by the thick and dark sand of this hidden beach and the crystal clear water. Platja Fonda managed to keep its primitive purity that you can rarely find in any other places of Costa Brava.

Each piece is made with two main components — wood (classic frames or driftwood), and regular gypsum. I enjoy frames for their classic form, that perfectly reveal and enhance the wave’s elegance.

What is amazing about Barcelona, is that the atmosphere in the water is generally really good — little localism and friendly faces.

Unlike many sports, surfing is an activity that our entire family can enjoy together, side by side, regardless of individual abilities.

Sometimes you just need to hang five or ten to clear your mind.Probably the closest we get to walking on water 2014 years after Christ.
