Our beautiful Jurma beanie is back just in time for the colder seasons! Made from fine merino wool and nylon. We love the colour neps details on it. Pair it with our Jurma knit and our Andey coat to stay warm during the cold winter days.
We make our knits and beanies with high-quality Italian wool yarns. For the Jurma beanie, we have opted to add nylon to the blend as it makes the wool live longer. This way you can wear it every day. Durability is sustainability.

The Materials

Wool is a very soft and comfortable material, which keeps us warm during the cooler months. Wool further has some very special other characteristics that make it so unique: it is a truly breathable and adaptable material that can absorb up to 35% of its own weight in moisture before feeling wet, and then releases the moisture as vapour into the environment. It is a very resistant material that does not require a lot of care (wool prefers to be aired out for a day instead of being put into the washing machine).
There has been a lot of criticism in the sector, where especially the practice of mulesing – being prevalent in the merino wool sector – has been criticised by animal welfare organisations. Mulesing is an extremely painful procedure for sheep, where skin is carved away from the backside of the animals to prevent a bacterial disease. This is why we are trying to source wool locally and in the case of Merino, use only certified mulesing-free wool.
