In February, TWOTHIRDS travelled to Morocco. The name is packed with potential, meaning “where the sun sets” in the native Arabic, and to surfers, signposting some of the world’s best lineups. This story actually starts in 1997. I was spending a school year abroad on the island of Maui, Hawaii and my brother, who was traveling around the world, decided to come for a visit. We were in the water nearly every day and became obsessed with traveling and discovering new waves.

More or less 8 years ago, we passed on our apartment in Hamburg to my brother, totally overloaded a moving van with our furniture and set out to make our dream come true in the Basque Country.

When I fell in love with a Spanish guy, I didn’t realize that I was also falling in love with a whole country. Living in Spain for the past 6 months, and exploring from misty mountaintops to wild seasides, has shown me just how much one tiny country can hold. As the days get longer, and warmer, I’m hoping to inspire some of your own adventures by sharing some of my favourite places.
